Nypel®

BASF Plastics' Nypel recycled nylon injection molding and extrusion compounds are based on select, post-industrial, recycled polyamide (nylon) feedstocks and are specially formulated to combine quality, performance and processability. cost-efficient alternative Nypel provides molders, converters and OEMs an environmentally friendly, cost-efficient material that reduces the flow of waste materials to landfills. The resins maintain many of the properties associated with virgin nylon resins, including an overall balance of strength, stiffness and toughness combined with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance. Nypel resins are available in black and natural colors.

Petra®

Petra thermoplastic polyester is based on 100% post-consumer and post-industrial polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The Petra family of injection molding resins offers a balance of engineering properties combined with high-temperature performance, chemical resistance, good electrical properties and ease of processing. Glass-reinforced, flame-retardant Petra resins provide customers excellent stiffness and strength in complex and thin molded parts.

Ultradur®

Ultradur is the trade name for BASF's partly crystalline, thermoplastic polyester based on polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). It is used as a material for high-quality, highly stressed engineering parts in a wide variety of industrial sectors. Ultradur features high stiffness and strength, very good dimensional stability at high temperatures, low water absorption and good resistance to many chemicals. Ultradur also has excellent weather resistance and outstanding heat aging performance.

Ultraform®

Ultraform is the tradename for the polyoxymethylene copolymer product range of BASF. The Ultraform product range comprises versatile engineering plastics having the most varied properties designed for use in exacting components capable of withstanding high stresses. The Ultraform grades fullfill the demands imposed on an engineering material in especially high measure. They combine high rigidity with mechanical strength and afford good elastic properties, high toughness, dimensional stability and excellent sliding friction properties.

Special mention should be made of the chemical resistance of Ultraform, particularly with respect to conventional grades of gasoline (even those containing methanol and ethanol) as well as to diesel fuels (also biodiesel).

Ultramid®

The Ultramid grades are polyamide molding compounds based on PA 6, PA 66 and various copolyamides such as PA 6/66, PA 66/6 and partly aromatic polyamide. Due to their outstanding properties these materials have become indispensable in almost all fields of engineering for the most varied components and machine parts, as high-quality electrical insulating materials and for many special applications.

Ultramid is exceptional for its high mechanical strength, rigidity and thermal stability. Moreover, Ultramid affords good impact resistance even at low temperatures, advantageous sliding friction properties and problem-free processing.
